“Born in 1979 in Bihac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vanja Borcic was raised in a family of many artists where he was introduced to the world of art at an early age. Four of his uncles are artists and since the beginning were a great influence on Vanja’s career.

In 1996, after the Bosnian Civil War ended, he moved to Des Moines, Iowa with his parents Branko and Ismeta and younger brother, Sasa. He graduated from Hoover High School in 1998 and received an undergraduate B.A. degree, in Graphic Design and Fine Art from Grand View University in 2003. Since 2000, Vanja has participated in various art festivals across the United States, including Uptown Art Festival, Minneapolis, Artscape, Baltimore, Town Art Show, Kansas City, One of a Kind, Chicago, Countryside Village, Omaha, Valley Junction, Des Moines, Art Fair Columbus etc., and various conceptual collaborative and solo exhibits.

Vanja currently resides in West Des Moines, Iowa and is working as a Front End Web Developer for Intoxalock company. He is also attending Des Moines Area Community College and is on track to earn a Associate of Applied Science degree in Web Development.”
